Lusaka South MFEZ Roadwork To Begin
05/01/10 - TueChina Jiangxi in a joint venture with BICON Zambia Limited has been awarded a contract to design and construct the 2.4 km Chifwema Road and 50 km internal road network in the Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (MFEZ).
The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) through the Central Tender Committee Meeting that was held on 21st December, 2009 granted authority to China Jiangxi Corporation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation in association with BICON Zambia Limited to undertake the project at a cost of K47, 562, 387, 848.05 VAT inclusive.
Chifwema Road is one of the main access roads that will connect the Lusaka South MFEZ to the Leopard Hill Road. Other access roads according to the MFEZ master plan will connect to the Mosi-O-Tunya Road, the Kafue Road and to the Lusaka Park, a Game Management Area
China Jiangxi in joint venture with BICON Zambia is currently mobilizing to start construction work with the date of commencing the project set for January 11, 2010. The project is expected to be completed within twelve months.
