Small Business

The Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) division facilitates the development of small enterprises by offering support services that include; technology transfer and development, provision of training, offering technical services and business management skills, provision of market support services and providing access to ZDA industrial and commercial estates.

The MSEs are classified as follows:

Micro Enterprises

  • A Micro enterprise shall be any business enterprise registered with Registrar of Companies;
  • Whose total investment excluding land and buildings shall be up to K80 Million
  • Whose annual turnover shall be up to K150 Million
  • Employing up to 10 persons

Small Enterprises

  • A small enterprise shall be any business enterprise registered with the Registrar of Companies;
  • whose total investment , excluding land and building
  • In case of manufacturing and processing enterprises, shall be between K81 million – K200 million in plant and machinery
  • In case of trading and services providing enterprises shall be up to K150 million
  • Whose annual turnover shall be between K151 million – K300million
  • Employing between 11 – 50 persons
