Organization Structure

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

In order to effectively execute its mandate, fulfill its mission and achieve its vision, ZDA is organized into five divisions as follows:

Investment Promotion and Privatization Division

The overall mandate of this Division is to promote Zambia’s investment opportunities locally and to the outside world in order to attract foreign and local investors in the different sectors of the economy .This Division is also mandated to advise government on the matters concerning privatization of such enterprises. Specifically, the Division is responsible for the following

· Investment promotion;
· Privatisation; and
· Establishment of Multi- Facility Economic Zones.

Research, Planning and Policy Division

The Research, Planning and Policy Division is the responsible for conducting research, as requested by government and other stakeholders. Specifically, the Division is responsible for generating information on investment opportunities in all the sectors of the economy and advising government on policy issues related to industrial development.

Micro and Small Enterprises Development Division

Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE’s) are important players in the economic development process of the country. These enterprises form a critical mass of business participants in the country’s economic activities and therefore, contribute immensely to industrial development. It is important to recognise the significant role that MSE’s play in national economic growth by providing a conducive environment for their development. The mandate of the Micro and Small Enterprise Development Division is to provide services that are intended to stimulate the development of MSEs. These services include training, provision of market information, and identification of opportunities for joint ventures with local and foreign partners.

Export Promotion and Market Development Division

The overall mandate of the Export Promotion and Market Development Division is to promote exports from Zambia and assist Zambian businesses and entrepreneurs in accessing new markets for their products within the region and globally. The Division does this through various activities including the following;

§ Organisation of trade missions ;
§ Conducting investment and trade sensitization workshops in the country;
§ Participation in trade fairs;
§ Information dissemination;
§ Facilitating access to market and price information by Zambian business and entrepreneurs

Corporate Services Division

The Corporate Services Division is responsible for managerial and administrative support to the overall operations of ZDA. The main function of this Division is to ensure that there are adequate systems and procedures for managing the financial, human, and other physical resources of the agency to operate effectively and fulfil the requirements of its overall mandate.

Office of the Director General

In addition to the five divisions described above, the office of the Director General also represents a separate functional part of ZDA. Within this office there are some key staff functions that provide specialized support to the organization. These functions include internal audit, legal, and public relations and communications.
