Generate Your Business Idea (GYB) is a training package for people who want to start a business but are not sure of the business idea to pursue. The potential entrepreneurs are trained in the basic requirements that are needed to be an entrepreneur, the capabilities that an entrepreneur needs to have and the ways that he or she can come up with a good business idea. The objective is to assists potential entrepreneurs to identify different business ideas, analyze them and select the most promising one.
Start Your Business (SYB)
Start Your Business (SYB) is a training package for potential entrepreneurs who have a feasible business idea. The training helps in developing a detailed business plan and to actually get started. The training also provides an opportunity to test the required entrepreneurial skills and the business plan in a simulated and safe environment.
Improve Your Business (IYB)
The IYB training package is for emerging entrepreneurs running small enterprises that want to sustain their businesses, increase sales and reduce costs. IYB is a modular training package and can address the most urgent need for business management improvement. It is supported by a set of manuals, the basic IYB modules (marketing, buying, stock control, costing, recordkeeping and financial planning) are complemented by the people and productivity manual that focuses on improving working conditions and labor productivity. The objective is to set up a more profitable business management system for MSMEs.
Expand Your Business (EYB)
The EYB package provides training and consulting for competitiveness and growth-oriented MSMEs. The end result of the training is the implementation of a strategic growth plan that addresses core growth constraints.
EYB covers a market niche between services developed for micro and small enterprises and those services available to medium sized and bigger enterprises. It addresses the needs of entrepreneurs who are set on a growth path but have to overcome key growth constraints.
Farming As A Business (FAAB)
This is a training package used in transforming the mind set of farmers, to take farming as a business and not a way of life. The purpose is to increase the incomes of the rural poor, or to put more money in the farmers’ pockets and into the rural economy. This is meant to enable them improve their standards of living in terms of housing, food security and basic household needs, while contributing to the larger goal of making the transition from subsistence to a cash economy, or the creation of wealth.
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy is the possession of knowledge and understanding of financial matters. It often entails the knowledge of proper decision-making pertaining to certain personal finance areas like, financial planning, loans and credit management, savings, investment, etc. the purpose is to equip entrepreneurs with the ability to understand and effectively use various financial skills, including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.
