The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has met with an Italian investor group aiming to establish an organic fertilizer production plant in the country.

Their intension is to open a plant in Zambia that will produce up to 2 million litres which is equivalent to 40,000 tonnes of Urea within two years of commencement. In addition to fertilizer production, the company plans to foster knowledge transfer by collaborating with local universities.

This strategic partnership aims to provide knowledge to Zambians in organic fertilizer production and usage.

In response, Mr. Halwampa warmly welcomed the company’s initiative to contribute to the organic fertilizer sector. He assured the delegation that ZDA is fully committed to supporting establishment of the plant within the proposed timeframe.

“This is a commendable initiative that not only aligns with environmental sustainability but also plays a crucial role in meeting the national fertilizer requirements.” Mr. Halwampa said.
