Mulima Nyambe-Mubanga is a Research Fellow at the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR) working on aspects relating to Climate Change, Sustainable Development and Environmental Sustainability. She is a seasoned Researcher and Policy Analyst with over 10 years of research and policy analysis experience. Mulima completed her Master of Science in International Trade Policy and Trade Law from Lund University, Sweden. She has co-authored publications: Working Paper on the ‘Economic implications of climate change in Zambia’; policy brief on ‘Climate change impacts on Zambia’s energy and agriculture sectors – an economy-wide analysis’ and a Journal article on ‘Bridging the divide? Integrating stakeholder values into energy system models’. Most recently Mulima co-authored a policy brief on ‘COVID-19 Recovery in Zambia: An opportunity for inclusive climate action’ presented at the COP26 Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) side-event.

She is currently Lead Researcher and Co-Investigator on two United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI)/Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) funded projects namely: ‘COVID 19: Greening the Social and Economic Recovery in Ghana and Zambia’, and ‘Energy Democracy and the Politics of Energy Transition in African Countries’ respectively.

Prior to this role, Mulima worked for RuralNet Associates Ltd as a Lead Consultant/Team Leader Researcher – Rural Business Development and Afrobarometer project Round 7 National Investigator. She was also Senior Research Officer at the Zambia Law Development Commission (ZLDC) where she was Lead Researcher on the Review of the Prisons Act and allied legislation and Review of the legal policy framework governing Child Protection, Diversion and Age of Criminal Responsibility among others. At the Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM), she served as Policy Analysis.

ANDERS AHNLID

Director-General, Swedish National Board of Trade

Mr. Anders Ahnlid is the Director-General of the Swedish National Board of Trade, appointed as of 2020. Prior to this role, Mr. Ahnlid, has served the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in various capacities such as Swedish Ambassador to Finland, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the EU in Brussels, Ambassador to the OECD and to UNESCO in Paris as well as Head of the Trade and Economic Department at the Embassy of Sweden in Washington DC.

Within the MFA, Mr Ahnlid has also served as Director-General for Trade, Deputy Director-General and Head of Department for International Trade Policy, as well as Trade Policy Analyst at the National Board of Trade. Mr Ahnlid was a negotiator in the GATT Uruguay Round that led to the creation of the World Trade Organization.

Jim HODGES
Jim started his career with Deloitte Zimbabwe working as a financial and information systems auditor before moving to Robson Rhodes London, and later with KPGM UK, to specialise in control and systems
assurance, risk management and forensic audit in the financial sector. Jim went on to co-found and take on the role of Financial Director of a London based advertising company.
Jim joined the European Investment Bank in 2008. His core role was the delivery of the Bank’s threeyear rolling operational plan, a key tool in communicating the Bank’s response to the Member States.
In 2014, Jim moved to the operational team at the EIB and assumed country responsibility for Botswana, Kenya, Malawi and Zimbabwe working with a wide range of counterparts including CEOs, Ambassadors, Ministers, representatives from other DFIs and leaders in the private sector. He has appraised, structured and negotiated financing for investment projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and lending to sovereign and financial intermediary financing. Jim holds an Accounting Science degree, is a qualified member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (CISA) and a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England & Wales (ICAEW).

Mr Albert Halwampa is currently the Acting Director General for the Zambia Development Agency and a Chevening Scholar with vast experience in International Trade and Investment.

He has led teams in promotion and facilitation, investment and trade in regional and international markets. He has participated in Bilateral and Multilateral Trade Negotiations that include SADC, COMESA, COMESA-SADC-EAC TFTA, AGOA, EU, African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Middle East and Chinese Market, Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo. Mr Halwampa has worked over the years to develop export strategies for both the public and private sector.

He sits on the Board of Zambia Export Development Fund, Investment Committee of the ZCCM–IH Board, and Market Transactions Committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission Board. He has been instrumental in organising conferences for Afreximbank, International Trade Centre, World Bank, and Intra African Trade Fair under the African Union.

Mr Halwampa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Zambia and Master of Laws in (LLM) International Commercial and Business Law from Bangor University, United Kingdom.

Mr. Ignatius Mwanza is a career banker with broad banking experience. He has been involved with ZICB from its project phase and was appointed as the first CEO of the Bank in January 2018.

He was previously Director of Corporate Banking at Zanaco where he had portfolio responsibility for Government, agriculture, corporates, small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and Transactional Banking. Prior to joining Zanaco, Mr. Mwanza worked for Stanbic Bank Zambia as Head Wholesale Banking and subsequently set up the Investment Banking Unit.

He previously worked for Standard Chartered Bank Zambia in various roles including Head of Treasury and Head Sales Corporate Banking. He also worked for Standard Chartered Bank in London initially as Contingency Planning Manager for Africa and later as Senior Manager Corporate Banking. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he worked at the Bank of Zambia and was Senior Manager in Foreign Operations in his last job.

He holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Henley Business School and an Associateship of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), both of the United Kingdom and a Diploma in Accountancy from Evelyn Hone College.
