The Permits and Certificates Approvals Committee of the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) accompanied by management, undertook a familiarization tour of some approved projects to appreciate progress and their impact on the economy in terms of actualised investments, employment creation and opportunities for other businesses such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and challenges.
The team first toured the International Drug Company Limited in Kabwe which will be Manufacturing Medical Products. Construction of the factory is at 60% completion with about US$10 million having been spent todate. The factory is expected to start production early next year.
In Serenje Pensulo Village, the committee and management toured YTR Ferro Alloys Limited manufacturing plant which is also still under construction. YTR Ferro Alloys Limited will be processing Manganese into Ferro Manganese Derivatives.
Speaking during the tour ZDA Director Business Development Gabriel Musentekwa said he was impressed with the progress made by the investors and promised to engage respective stakeholders regarding challenges experienced by the company.
