ZDA pays Courtesy Call on ZANIS

The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) management led by Director General Albert Halwampa paid a courtesy call on the Zambia National Information Service (ZANIS) to enhance the working relationship and explore other areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

Mr. Halwampa said ZDA recognizes and appreciates the media as an important partner with a key role of information sharing.

“At ZDA we are in the business of promoting Investment, Trade and Business Development, while ZANIS is in the information dissemination business.” Mr. Halwampa said.

He emphasized the need for the two organisations to work together for the good of the people of Zambia.

Meanwhile, ZANIS Director Loyce Saili said her organisation as a government Public Relations wing is charged with informing the public of government programmes and initiatives.

She stated that her organization which is spread in over 104 districts and is still growing, is ready to collaborate and work with ZDA.

She noted that two the organisations have a common goal to ensure that Investment, Trade and Business Development news is shared with the public.

She observed that the courtesy call was at the right time when ZANIS is in the process of transitioning from a News Agency to a broadcaster and had in fact been doing test broadcast since 2023.

“We are now doing test runs and once this is complete, we will be able to broadcast throughout the county. ZANIS signal is currently on Topstar and will also be migrated to DSTV in the near future.”

Ms. Saili also took the ZDA team on a tour of the refurbished state of the art broadcasting studios at ZANIS offices.

She encouraged ZDA to take advantage and utilize the ZANIS TV platform which she said would operate on a 24 hour basis once the trial test run which started in 2023 was complete.
